DCS Engineer

About the role

UCB is seeking a meticulous and proactive DCS Engineer to join the Technical Services department at its biotechnology, pharmaceutical and chemical production site in Bulle, Switzerland. Reporting to the Automation Manager, you will work within a collaborative team of 18 automation professionals to ensure reliable and efficient operation of automated production systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and document DeltaV programs, perform FAT/SAT and support commissioning activities.
• Handle technical intervention requests (DITs) by analysing, programming and verifying solutions.
• Act as automation subject‑matter expert on technical projects and coordinate external resources.
• Prioritise routine maintenance while guaranteeing continuous production.
• Maintain the full document life‑cycle for projects and routine tasks.
• Manage deviations, investigations and CAPA at the technical and documentation level.
• Participate in the 24/7/365 on‑call support plan to provide automation expertise.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automation, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with DeltaV programming.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is preferred.
• Strong communication skills in French and English.
