Desktop Support Engineer – Backfill Role

About the role

This is a backfill Desktop Support Engineer role. You will provide first‑ and second‑level support for desktops, laptops, printers and mobile devices across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to service requests and incidents via ticketing system, phone or in‑person.
• Install, upgrade and maintain Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems and software applications.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and peripheral issues such as monitors, keyboards and docking stations.
• Set up and configure new employee workstations, including user accounts and permissions.
• Maintain asset inventory and document IT equipment.
• Support remote users with VPN, remote desktop and connectivity issues.
• Collaborate with other IT teams on escalated issues and project tasks.
• Follow security protocols, including antivirus, patching and data‑protection policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in desktop support, help‑desk or IT technician role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365 and basic networking concepts.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Zendesk or JIRA.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
