Experienced Accountant

About the role

We are recruiting an Experienced Accountant for a well‑established international company in Basel. The role offers ownership of financial reporting, statutory accounting and audit coordination within a dynamic, growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, and accruals.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) and Swiss GAAP FER.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial analyses.
• Support budgeting, variance analysis and tax/VAT matters.
• Coordinate external audits and act as the main contact for auditors and authorities.
• Prepare ad‑hoc financial reports and assist with payment processing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.

Required profile

• Commercial education (EFZ) or equivalent, with further finance/accounting qualifications.
• Several years of experience in Swiss financial accounting and strong knowledge of OR and Swiss GAAP FER.
• Exposure to IFRS, auditors and regulatory authorities is a plus.
• Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
• Independent, reliable, detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills.
