Full-Stack Web Developer – Tools Team

About the role

As a Full-Stack Web Developer in the Tools Team, you will own and evolve key web applications that support power converter experts at CERN. You will work in an agile Scrum environment, collaborating with stakeholders and delivering features in two-week sprints.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full-stack web applications and associated databases.
• Gather and refine requirements with power converter experts and other stakeholders.
• Provide application support, including debugging and fixing issues.
• Lead sprints for the subset of applications you own.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional development team using Scrum.

Required profile

• National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
• Maximum two years of professional experience after a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; willingness to learn French.

Required skills

• JavaScript / TypeScript (Vue 3, Pinia, Vite).
• Python (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, asyncio).
• SQL (PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• REST API design and development.
• Database design and development.
• UI/UX design principles.
• Basic knowledge of DevOps tools (CI/CD, Docker, Docker‑Compose, Kubernetes) – advantageous.
