Global Category Lead Engineering & Construction

About the role

We are seeking a Global Category Lead for Engineering & Construction to shape sourcing strategies for major capital investment projects across our worldwide network. Based in Bulle, Switzerland, you will lead procurement activities for engineering services, construction works, installation services, and integrated project delivery models.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement global sourcing strategies aligned with business investment priorities.
• Lead strategic sourcing projects, supplier selection, contract negotiations and commercial discussions worldwide.
• Build and maintain relationships with engineering and construction partners to enhance performance and innovation.
• Define commercial frameworks and contracting models balancing delivery, value, compliance and risk.
• Drive supplier performance using metrics on cost, quality, schedule, safety, sustainability and service excellence.
• Identify cost‑optimization, standardisation and process‑improvement opportunities across global projects.
• Lead, coach and develop a global team of category professionals.
• Establish procurement governance, processes and standards for capital investment projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Procurement, Construction Management or related field.
• Significant experience in strategic procurement, sourcing and contract management within engineering, infrastructure or capital projects.
• Proven experience leading complex commercial negotiations and global supplier partnerships.
• Demonstrated ability to lead high‑performing teams in a multinational environment.
• Strong business and financial acumen with risk and cost evaluation skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing abilities across functions, cultures and geographies.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and project leadership capabilities with a data‑driven approach.
• Professional procurement, project management or supply chain certification is a plus.
