Global CMO Packaging Site Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced professional to lead the global CMO clinical packaging function for a leading pharmaceutical client on an 11‑month fixed‑term assignment. The role will oversee outsourced labeling, packaging and device assembly operations across a worldwide network of contract manufacturing organisations (CMOs).

Key responsibilities

• Organise and supervise clinical drug labeling, packaging and device assembly production outsourced to global CMOs.
• Manage CMO project onboarding, communications, timelines and delivery performance to meet supply‑chain needs while controlling cost and quality.
• Partner with Procurement to drive RFPs, negotiate supply agreements, and select vendors.
• Support leadership in defining supply strategies, own budgeting for variable CMO project costs, and submit forecasts.
• Establish team scope, governance and KPIs; report performance to senior stakeholders.
• Represent the CMO function in S&OP processes and drive network supply outcomes.
• Lead Supplier Relationship Management activities to secure long‑term capability and capacity.
• Create and maintain purchase orders, review CMO invoices and manage order execution in the ERP system.
• Identify and champion continuous‑improvement initiatives and act as SME for strategic projects.

Required profile

• BA/BS degree in a technical, business or supply‑chain discipline (Master’s a plus).
• 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical supply chain, clinical drug manufacturing or contract manufacturing management.
• Hands‑on GMP experience and strong knowledge of pharma supply chains.
• Excellent written and spoken English; basic German is beneficial.
• Flexibility to work global hours, including early mornings or late evenings as required.
