Global Manufacturing Process Definition & Improvement Specialist

About the role

Hitachi Energy seeks a Global Manufacturing Process Definition & Improvement Specialist to standardise, optimise and continuously improve manufacturing processes for distribution transformers worldwide. You will drive best‑practice adoption, support capacity expansion projects and ensure technology transfer across sites.

Key responsibilities

• Define, document and standardise manufacturing processes globally, ensuring consistency and best‑practice adherence.
• Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma and Industry 4.0 principles.
• Identify and implement automation, digital transformation and advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, production and quality teams for new product introductions and process validation.
• Develop and deliver training programmes, conduct audits and performance analyses.
• Benchmark internal and external processes to capture industry best practices.
• Manage complex improvement and capacity‑expansion projects, handling scope, resources, timelines and stakeholder communication.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and internal quality systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Extensive experience in manufacturing engineering, process development or continuous improvement in a global environment.
• Proven track record of leading significant process improvement and technology transfer projects.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 30‑50% and fluency in English.

• Lean manufacturing principles.
• Six Sigma methodology (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
• Industry 4.0 concepts, MES, SCADA, AI/ML applications in manufacturing.
• Process simulation software.
