Head of Communications, EMEA

About the role

As Head of Communications for the EMEA region, you will lead corporate communications for a fast‑growing global sportswear brand, reporting directly to the Chief Communications Officer and shaping the brand’s narrative across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute EMEA‑wide communications strategies that align with the global narrative.
• Manage media relations, building strong relationships with journalists, key opinion leaders and industry stakeholders.
• Maintain relationships with local government entities and act as a liaison for community engagement and compliance.
• Oversee creation and distribution of press materials, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
• Lead crisis communication efforts in coordination with the global team.
• Organise press events and collaborate with marketing on product launches and promotional activities.
• Identify speaking opportunities at industry conferences, events and panels.
• Manage regional agencies to deliver communications goals across EMEA markets.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience in corporate communications, preferably in sports, retail or FMCG.
• Excellent written and verbal English; additional European language skills (German, French, Italian, Spanish) are a plus.
• Established network of media contacts and influencers across EMEA.
• Proven experience building government relations and community liaison.
• Strong understanding of digital and social media in corporate messaging.
• Demonstrated ability to support senior executives and manage multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines.
