Head of Learning & Development

About the role

As the Head of Learning & Development you will shape how learning is understood, designed and embedded across a global organisation. You will evolve the lifelong learning strategy, align initiatives with business priorities and turn strategic ideas into measurable impact.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the global L&D strategy, offering and culture.
• Translate business priorities into practical learning solutions, skills frameworks, career paths and learning journeys.
• Partner with the global Learning Community, HR and key stakeholders to position learning as a strategic lever for performance and growth.
• Drive implementation and continuous improvement of learning operations, tools, reporting, onboarding and key initiatives.
• Lead and develop a small, distributed team, fostering collaboration, clarity and pragmatic execution.

Required profile

• Solid experience in Learning & Development within an international matrix organisation.
• Proven ability to design and evolve learning strategies, offerings and skills‑based development approaches.
• Strong project and programme management experience, translating strategic priorities into scalable solutions.
• Confident stakeholder management, able to engage senior leaders and influence without formal authority.
• Leadership, change‑management and transformation experience, guiding distributed teams.

• Modern learning approaches, including digital learning and AI‑enabled solutions.
• Future‑skills thinking and awareness of current L&D market trends.
• Ability to apply learning technologies pragmatically.
