Legal Counsel - EMEA

About the role

Intuitive, a pioneer in robotic-assisted surgery, is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its EMEA Legal team at its European headquarters in Aubonne, Switzerland. The role reports to the Assistant General Counsel, supports EMEA activities within a matrixed organization and requires on-site presence at least three days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate NDAs independently, escalating material or non-standard issues to the Assistant General Counsel, and maintain approved alternative language and playbook guidance.
• Manage corporate secretarial and governance matters with the Corporate Governance Team, including setting up new entities, annual compliance for European entities and support for other jurisdictions.
• Oversee the EMEA Signatory Matrix SOP, advising stakeholders on signatory authority, supporting implementation and training and coordinating updates.
• Support standard EMEA programs, such as drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements like Academic Collaboration Agreements with Sales, Marketing and other stakeholders.
• Review and advise on advertising and promotional materials across EMEA for compliance with laws, regulations, industry codes and internal policies, working with the Associate General Counsel, Regulatory Law.
• Spearhead the development and adoption of AI tools in EMEA Commercial Legal.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 5+ years of relevant experience, including corporate law.
• Fluent English; German and/or French is an advantage, other European languages welcome.
• Experience with multinational corporate groups and matrixed organizations.
• Knowledge of advertising and promotion rules for healthcare products in Europe, including comparative advertising and scientific communications.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and to work onsite three days per week.
