Logistics Specialist (Global Clinical Distribution)

About the role

The Logistics Specialist will support the Clinical Distribution organisation, ensuring clinical supplies are shipped correctly and on time for more than 500 studies worldwide. This role is part of the Network & Capability chapter, which designs and operates the logistic framework for Roche/Genentech clinical trials.

Key responsibilities

• Manage operational order processing and handling of clinical supply shipments, including investigational medicinal products (IMP) and drop shipments.
• Maintain all required documentation and licences in line with country‑specific regulations.
• Monitor shipments to guarantee on‑time delivery and proactively address any interruptions.
• Keep country‑specific requirements up to date and act as the primary contact for logistics‑related queries.
• Collaborate closely with site logistics teams, warehouses, transportation, and customs management.
• Participate in projects and initiatives after gaining experience in the role.

Required profile

• Completed degree or apprenticeship with a background in clinical supply chain, logistics, freight forwarding, or related fields.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• GDP (Good Distribution Practice) experience is mandatory; GMP experience is a plus.
• Business‑fluent German and English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GDP/GMP regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP or comparable logistics tools).
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Ability to manage documentation, licences, and customs requirements.
