Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Join Destinus to build intelligent, safety‑critical computer‑vision systems that operate reliably in real‑world, uncertain environments. You will push the limits of deep learning for autonomous flight, combining simulation, verification and rigorous ML pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design, train and optimise deep‑learning models for computer‑vision tasks in dynamic, safety‑critical settings.
• Own the full ML lifecycle—from data strategy and model architecture to deployment and performance monitoring.
• Develop robust evaluation pipelines to meet strict reliability and safety standards.
• Participate in ML certification activities, validating model behaviour under regulatory frameworks.
• Leverage transfer learning and simulation to extend training beyond real‑world data.
• Collaborate with software, systems and flight teams to integrate models into operational applications.
• Continuously improve model performance across edge cases, environmental variability and operational constraints.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of hands‑on deep‑learning experience for computer‑vision.
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or a related technical field.
• Strong programming skills in C++ or Rust.
• Experience with data‑centric AI, dataset curation and augmentation.
