Manager, Portfolio Accounting

About the role

The Manager, Portfolio Accounting will own end‑to‑end accounting for an assigned portfolio within IATA’s Corporate Services division. You will ensure high‑quality financial reporting, strong governance, and scalable processes while supporting the business in a complex, data‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the single accountable owner for all accounting positions (revenue, deferred revenue, accruals, provisions) across the portfolio.
• Lead the month‑end close and reporting cycle, coordinating with FP&A, business leads and Shared Services to meet SLAs.
• Apply IFRS and internal policy to produce accurate, timely reports.
• Implement close‑governance practices, including issue triage, judgement logs, post‑close reviews and continuous improvement.
• Prepare material journal entries, key reconciliations and adjustments, ensuring cash‑flow impacts are understood.
• Perform preliminary accounting assessments such as revenue recognition under IFRS 15, capitalization under IAS 38, and provisions/estimates.
• Escalate high‑complexity matters to senior managers or technical accounting teams as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in end‑to‑end accounting ownership and financial stewardship.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS reporting standards, especially IFRS 15 and IAS 38.
• Demonstrated ability to lead month‑end close processes and coordinate cross‑functional deliverables.
• Excellent judgment and governance mindset for issue triage and continuous improvement.
