Managing Director – FinTech (Zurich)

About the role

We are seeking a Managing Director to lead the Swiss operation of a fast‑growing FinTech company. Based in Zurich, you will own the business unit, drive commercial performance and build strategic relationships across the DACH region and wider Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Full P&L ownership of the Swiss business unit and accountability for commercial results.
• Generate new business opportunities and forge strategic partnerships with financial‑services clients in the DACH region.
• Recruit, develop and lead a high‑performing local team, fostering a culture of client focus and operational excellence.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with FINMA and ensure full regulatory compliance.
• Manage key client and partner relationships, including banks, payment processors and corporate clients.
• Collaborate with group leadership to align local strategy with global growth objectives.
• Represent the firm at industry events and within the Swiss and European payments and FinTech community.

Required profile

• Senior commercial or operational leadership experience in FinTech, payments, financial services or a regulated technology business.
• Deep understanding of the Swiss financial‑services and payments landscape, including FINMA regulations and cross‑border payment flows.
• Proven ability to build and lead teams in a scale‑up or growth‑phase environment.
• Established network within the Swiss or DACH financial‑services, banking or FinTech community.
• Fluent English; German language skills are highly advantageous.
