Mechanical Assembly Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Assembly Engineer to join an innovative aerospace team on a contract basis. The role focuses on high‑precision opto‑mechanical assembly, bonding and integration of sub‑assemblies for space, defence and related sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, clean and assemble components to detailed specifications and industry standards.
• Perform bonding operations, maintaining full documentation and traceability.
• Collaborate with IVVQ managers to define integration steps, timelines and procedural compliance.
• Support design and technology teams in reviewing hardware for integration efficiency.
• Assist during test campaigns with hardware handling and mechanical processes.
• Conduct incoming inspections of components and assemblies as required.
• Pack and prepare hardware securely for storage or transportation in line with safety requirements.
• Manufacture mechanical parts using workshop machining such as drilling and milling, based on design drawings.

Required profile

• Solid background in opto‑mechanical assembly and bonding activities.
• Experience in high‑precision, complex environments (space, defence, aerospace or related sectors).
• Prior manufacturing experience is an advantage.
