Mechanical Engineering Manager – Sensors & Mechanical Sub‑systems

About the role

For our Motion, Power, Sensing Division site in Fribourg, Parker Hannifin is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager. You will lead the Sensors Engineering team, focusing on mechanical sensor design, micromechanics, PLM implementation and engineering process excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Sensors Engineering team, setting objectives, governance, competency development and succession planning.
• Drive sensor technology and mechanical sub‑system development from research to market launch, meeting cost, quality and performance targets.
• Implement and adopt PLM tools, overseeing engineering workflows, configuration management, change control and design release.
• Establish and improve engineering processes and standards, ensuring compliance with aerospace and energy lifecycle requirements.
• Provide technical leadership across functions, reviewing solutions, risks, costs and schedules while supporting sales, marketing and product management.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Microsystems Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
• Significant experience in mechanical product development, especially sensors, micromechanics or high‑reliability components.
• Proven experience implementing PLM tools and engineering processes in regulated industries such as aerospace or energy.
• Strong project execution mindset balancing performance, cost, quality and schedule.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with engineering teams, senior leadership and customers.
