New Client Onboarding Manager

About the role

Swissquote's Business Risk Management (BRM) function oversees client onboarding, periodic reviews and ongoing lifecycle controls, working with front-office teams, Compliance and Legal. As Associate Director for New Client Onboarding, you will lead the end-to-end onboarding of corporate and institutional clients across Gland and Zurich, ensuring regulatory compliance, accuracy and service level targets. You report to the Vice-Director and Deputy Head of BRM and oversee team operations and people management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the operational and people management of the New Client Onboarding team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Oversee end-to-end onboarding workflows, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements, data accuracy and service level commitments.
• Drive transformation initiatives for process optimization, productivity gains and continuous improvement.
• Exercise independent judgment on complex or novel cases, escalating appropriately and guiding the team.
• Partner with Institutional Sales, Compliance and Legal to support sustainable business growth while upholding risk and regulatory standards.
• Take part in client or prospect meetings when needed.
• Contribute to recruitment and performance management, and coach and mentor team members.

Required profile

• Minimum 5-7 years' track record in client onboarding, KYC/AML or compliance operations in financial services.
• Previous leadership or team-lead experience is a strong advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss regulatory requirements (FINMA, AMLA, CDB) and onboarding due diligence standards.
• Good understanding of client onboarding processes and risk classification.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven, high-volume environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and French; German is an advantage.
