Night Housekeeper

About the role

The Night Housekeeper ensures high‑quality cleaning and the smooth operation of housekeeping, room service and laundry throughout the night shift on a cruise vessel. This role supports the Chief Housekeeper and Butler Manager by overseeing night‑time guest services and maintaining the vessel’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect all areas of the ship during the night to verify cleanliness and address any issues promptly.
• Handle guest orders efficiently and update the Guest Recovery Log.
• Conduct random checks in public areas, cabins, laundry and room service to uphold cleaning standards.
• Prepare daily handover reports for the Chief Housekeeper, including suite movements and operational updates.
• Supervise the night housekeeping team’s schedule, attendance records and training sessions.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and manage employee records.
• Log and follow up on equipment inspections, maintenance, and pest‑control measures.
• Collaborate with HR on personnel matters and ensure consistent corrective‑action procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hospitality housekeeping, preferably on a cruise ship or hotel.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and guest‑service orientation.
• Ability to work night shifts and handle confidential information responsibly.

Required skills

• Knowledge of housekeeping procedures and standards.
• Familiarity with housekeeping management software (e.g., Silver Compass).
• Experience using time‑and‑attendance applications.
