Payroll Specialist

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for a Payroll Specialist to manage end‑to‑end payroll for Switzerland and several European countries. You will work in a multicultural team, ensuring accurate, compliant payroll cycles while developing deep expertise in international taxation and cross‑border payroll operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full payroll processes for Switzerland and multiple European jurisdictions, including year‑end duties.
• Process social‑insurance contributions and reporting on time.
• Handle share‑plan processing within the payroll system.
• Conduct plausibility and data‑quality checks before sending data to external providers.
• Review monthly and annual results from providers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Produce statistics and reports for Finance, Pension Fund, Health Insurer, and AHV.
• Specify business requirements, test systems, and support change‑management activities.
• Coordinate international taxation for local employees, transferees, and assignees.
• Manage shadow and split payroll for internationally mobile staff.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of payroll experience in an international environment.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss payroll legislation, social security, labour law and double‑taxation agreements.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills in German and English.
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across borders.
