Project Manager Operations – 80-100%

About the role

As a Project Manager in the PMO at Coherent Corp, you will own cross‑functional projects in a highly technical environment while helping to shape the PMO itself. You will work closely with engineering, operations, finance and external partners to deliver projects on time, within budget and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Drive projects from concept to successful delivery, defining scope, work packages, timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary teams and a wide range of stakeholders, including external authorities.
• Identify risks and dependencies early and implement mitigation measures.
• Provide clear, structured reporting to senior management.
• Facilitate decision‑making and resolve challenges pragmatically.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes and tools.
• Support operational and infrastructure projects such as equipment implementation, facility modifications, or production capacity expansion.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences or a comparable technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of project management experience in an industrial, manufacturing or technical environment (or 1–2 years with a Master’s degree).
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, cleanroom environments, industrial operations or technical infrastructure projects is a strong plus.
• Strong technical understanding combined with high digital affinity.
• Excellent stakeholder management across functions and seniority levels.
• Analytical, conceptual and problem‑solving skills with a hands‑on, ownership‑driven work style.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Experience with external contractors, authorities or permit processes is advantageous.
