Projects Coordinator for Mobility (CERN)

About the role

CERN is looking for a Projects Coordinator for Mobility to lead projects that contribute to the delivery and evolution of CERN's mobility strategy. You will coordinate the implementation of the mobility plan, prepare the next plan, and lead cross-functional projects and events that improve mobility across CERN sites. The position is fully onsite in Geneva, 40 hours per week, with a 24-month contract (extendable up to 36 months) starting on 1 February 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the actions of CERN's mobility plan through to 2028, including milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions and follow-up.
• Maintain a consolidated project portfolio and report regularly on status, priorities, issues and upcoming decisions.
• Work with action owners and stakeholders to turn strategic objectives into workplans, deliverables and implementation steps.
• Contribute to the next mobility plan by gathering needs, analysing lessons learned, structuring consultations and drafting supporting material.
• Pilot mobility projects and events, from scoping and stakeholder alignment through implementation, coordination and post-event review.
• Take part in the CERN mobility working group, prepare inputs and meetings, document conclusions and coordinate follow-up.
• Support communication and stakeholder engagement so that information is clear, timely and tailored to the audience.
• Identify opportunities for service improvement, sustainability and better user experience, and make evidence-based recommendations.
• Keep project documentation, decisions, indicators and lessons learned accessible for continuity and governance.

Required profile

• Graduate in Project Management, Transport and Mobility, Urban Planning, Sustainability, Engineering, Business Administration, Public Policy or a related field.
• National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
• Professional background in Transportation Management, Civil Engineering or a related field, with either a Master's degree and 2 to 6 years of post-graduation experience, or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation experience.
• No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract.
• Initial experience in project coordination, multi-stakeholder initiatives, mobility, events, sustainability or service development is an asset; experience in an international or multidisciplinary environment is an advantage.
• Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language.

• Strong analytical and drafting skills, producing concise reports and recommendations.
• Good command of common office, collaboration, presentation and project-tracking tools.
• Ability to organise meetings, workshops and events and to follow up systematically.
• Clear communication, stakeholder management and autonomous work with appropriate escalation of risks and decisions.
