Purchase Order Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Purchase Order Specialist to join a leading telecom client in Zurich on a hybrid basis. The role starts on 1 June 2026 and is initially for three months with the possibility of extension. You will be responsible for converting purchase requisitions into purchase orders and ensuring flawless execution.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end PR to PO conversion, meeting defined SLAs.
• Execute purchase orders accurately with a “first time right” approach.
• Serve as the operational interface to suppliers, handling communication, order follow‑ups and issue resolution.
• Monitor order backlog, ensure timely delivery and trigger escalations when needed.
• Drive day‑to‑day process stability and consistency.
• Identify and implement improvements in ordering, tracking and issue handling.
• Resolve operational issues such as delivery delays or invoice mismatches in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
• Maintain master data quality to support accurate order processing.
• Contribute to SAP hardware ordering initiatives, including testing, implementation and operational readiness.

Required profile

• Proven experience in purchase order processing or procurement operations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within defined service level agreements.
• Excellent communication skills for supplier interaction and internal coordination.
• Analytical mindset to monitor backlogs and drive continuous improvement.
