Senior Associate, Accounting & Reporting

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Finance, Accounting & Audit function. The role is part of the International Center of Excellence and focuses on complex inventory and HR accounting topics, ensuring high‑quality financial reporting, strong controls, and standardized processes across Alcon’s global entities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inventory accounting and provision calculations for APL and international affiliates, including quarterly reporting and variance analysis.
• Improve month‑end closing processes through controls, standardization, and automation.
• Support HR accounting functions such as payroll, short‑term incentives, vacation accruals, and social charges across multiple markets.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis of fluctuations for HR‑related balances.
• Collaborate with Global Supply Chain Finance, internal and external auditors, and technical accounting teams on complex issues.
• Maintain SOPs, desktop procedures, and ensure compliance with Alcon Accounting Manual, AFCM, SOX 404, and IFRS standards.

Required profile

• Subject‑matter expertise in inventory and HR accounting within a multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, SOX 404, and internal control frameworks.
• Experience preparing financial reports, variance analysis, and month‑end close activities.
• Ability to coach junior team members and work cross‑functionally with supply chain and audit teams.
