Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

About the role

ELCA Cloud Services is seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and automated cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and the ELCA Sovereign Cloud. The role works closely with development, security, and operations teams to improve deployment reliability, system performance, and overall cloud maturity.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Puppet).
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for automated build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability of Azure environments.
• Collaborate with development teams to support cloud‑native and hybrid workloads.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers in Azure and hybrid environments.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health.
• Participate in architecture design, technical decision‑making, and incident response.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to DevOps standards and documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior DevOps / Azure DevOps Engineer.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure services (compute, networking, storage, identity).
• Solid expertise in Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform (required) and Puppet or similar tools.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Good Linux and/or Windows system administration knowledge.
• Fluent French and at least B2 level English.
