Senior System Engineer

About the role

EveryWare is seeking a Senior System Engineer to join its Platform department in Lausanne. Reporting to the System Team leader, you will be a technical reference for Microsoft‑based infrastructure, ensuring stability and performance for both internal services and client environments.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, maintain and evolve Microsoft‑based platforms such as Windows Server, Active Directory, WSUS, SQL Server and IIS.
• Administer virtualised environments (VMware ESXi, vCenter, Proxmox) and manage the full VM lifecycle.
• Design system architectures that meet performance, scalability and security requirements.
• Monitor infrastructure health, proactively identify issues and provide 2nd‑level support with root‑cause analysis.
• Automate operations using PowerShell, Puppet, Rundeck and Terraform.

Required profile

• Passionate about technology, continuously learning and able to lead critical implementation and production activities.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a customer‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication in French and English; German is a plus.

Required skills

• Windows Server, AD, GPO, IIS, SQL Server, WSUS, RDS, DFS.
• Virtualisation: VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, Proxmox.
• Backup: Veeam.
• Networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, proxy, load balancers.
• Scripting/automation: PowerShell, Python.
• Monitoring: CheckMK or similar.
• IaC/configuration management: Terraform, Puppet.
• Exposure to public clouds (AWS, Azure) and Linux (Debian, RHEL) is a plus.
