Senior DevOps Engineer – 12‑month contract

About the role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a major financial services organisation in Basel on a 12‑month contract. The role combines strong development experience with DevOps expertise to lead end‑to‑end initiatives, working closely with developers, security and infrastructure teams.

Key responsibilities

• Improve SDLC processes, including GitHub pipelines, Ansible Windows playbooks and application code when needed.
• Design, implement and maintain end‑to‑end solutions within a team of engineers.
• Liaise with security and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with best practices.
• Document existing and new solutions thoroughly.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a comparable DevOps or development role.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale DevOps initiatives.
• Strong hands‑on experience with CI/CD platforms (preferably GitHub Actions).
• Solid scripting skills (PowerShell or Bash) and programming experience in C#.
• Experience with observability tools such as the ELK stack.
• Server administration background and deep understanding of security best practices, including secrets management, encryption and access‑rights management.
