Senior iOS Software Engineer (Geneva)

About the role

Based in our Geneva office, you will join one of Proton’s high‑impact product teams to build privacy‑first iOS experiences for services such as Proton Mail, Drive, VPN, Lumo and Meet. You will work on technically ambitious products that protect millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship high‑quality iOS applications for Proton’s consumer products.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers across the organization.
• Define and uphold standards for performance, usability, and security on Apple platforms.
• Mentor junior engineers and raise the technical bar within the team.
• Navigate large codebases, contribute to architectural decisions, and participate in product and technical discussions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience building and shipping iOS applications.
• Strong focus on product quality, usability, and exceptional user experiences.
• Proven ability to create maintainable, scalable, and testable mobile architectures.
• Comfortable working across large codebases and multiple cross‑functional teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and improving team technical standards.
• Deep understanding of performance, concurrency, and mobile memory management.
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments and contribute to product strategy.
• Experience with privacy, security, encryption, sync systems, or offline‑first architectures is a strong plus.
• Rust experience is a plus, though not required.
