Senior Manager, Advocacy Communications

About the role

This senior position is based in Switzerland and focuses on shaping and amplifying advocacy narratives that influence policy discussions, public discourse, and stakeholder engagement worldwide. You will work at the intersection of communications, policy, and advocacy to translate complex issues into compelling messages for diverse audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and support advocacy communication strategies and campaigns aligned with organizational priorities and global public‑interest initiatives.
• Create clear, persuasive narratives that make complex policy and technical topics accessible to policymakers, regulators, civil society, media, and academic audiences.
• Ensure consistency and effectiveness of advocacy communications across regions, cultures, languages, and governance environments.
• Collaborate with internal teams to tailor communication approaches for key stakeholder groups.
• Support media engagement by preparing messaging frameworks, briefing materials, talking points, and spokesperson guidance.
• Identify proactive media outreach, thought‑leadership, and commentary opportunities across regional and international channels.
• Contribute to rapid‑response communication activities related to policy, regulatory, or governance developments.
• Develop and maintain communication resources such as campaign toolkits, message frameworks, narrative guides, and response materials.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of experience in advocacy communications, strategic communications, public affairs, or related fields.
• Proven experience communicating with advocacy audiences including policymakers, regulators, civil‑society organizations, think tanks, media, and academic communities.
• Strong background in public‑interest initiatives, digital policy, technology policy, or Internet governance.
