Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Aerospace (Switzerland)

About the role

ALTEN Switzerland is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to cutting‑edge aircraft programs. You will work on cabin and cockpit structures, ensuring innovative, safe, and manufacturable solutions that meet stringent aviation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop cabin and cockpit structural components.
• Create cockpit system installations for ATA 21, ATA 23, ATA 24, ATA 27, ATA 34, and ATA 53.
• Ensure all designs comply with Part 23 regulatory requirements and Design for Manufacturing (DfM) principles.
• Produce detailed 2D/3D models, production drawings, and Bills of Materials using Siemens NX.
• Collaborate with engineering, certification, and production teams to validate designs and support testing activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in cabin/cockpit structure design and system installations, preferably with Part 23 projects.
• Professional proficiency in English; German is a plus.

Required skills

• Siemens NX (3D CAD and drafting).
• Knowledge of ATA standards: 21, 23, 24, 27, 34, 53.
• Understanding of Part 23 regulatory compliance.
• Design for Manufacturing (DfM) expertise.
• Ability to generate Bills of Materials (BOM) and detailed production drawings.
