Senior MES Recipe Designer (80-100%)

About the role

Lonza is looking for a Senior MES Recipe Designer to translate process requirements into efficient Manufacturing Execution System (MES) recipes. You will work on optimizing data flows and integrating MES with ERP, LIMS, and automation systems in a GMP‑controlled environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the MES manager, system users and process owners to develop and revise MES recipes using TypeScript.
• Configure production recipes, manage MES master data (products, locations, equipment, materials) and support quality records such as change controls and CAPA.
• Draft and execute validation test scripts (IQ, OQ, PQ) for recipes.
• Design and enhance interfaces to ERP, LIMS and automation systems, defining requirements and optimal data flow.
• Provide Helpdesk support for production issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience with MES in a programming or modeling capacity.
• Hands‑on experience with commercial MES platforms (Rockwell PharmaSuite, Werum Pas‑X, POMS, Emerson Syncade).
• GMP manufacturing background, preferably in fill‑and‑finish or sterile/aseptic environments.
• Academic degree in IT or related field is an advantage.
• Fluent English; German is a plus and willingness to learn.
