Senior Software Engineer – Connectivity & Data Systems

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Application and Data team and act as the technical bridge between the Dexter robotic system and our cloud analytics platform. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining data‑driven solutions that enable remote monitoring, secure telemetry, and high‑quality data ingestion from operating rooms.

Key responsibilities

• Specify, design, and develop C++/Qt software modules for servicing, diagnosing, and configuring the Dexter robotic system.
• Participate in full system design, prototyping, and verification, linking local software with cloud‑based data systems.
• Lead the roadmap for remote monitoring (IoT) and data connectivity for the robot.
• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, processing, and visualization in Azure/Databricks.
• Optimize DataFactory operations and ensure reliability within the Azure environment.
• Implement automated validation checks and test procedures to detect data inconsistencies.
• Guide configuration of internal tools to improve data ingestion efficiency and governance compliance.
• Support cross‑functional investigations, including CAPA and root‑cause analysis of data discrepancies.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Typically 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in data engineering or connectivity.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across Operations, Finance, Sales, and R&D.
• Excellent problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• C++ programming for Windows.
• Qt framework.
• Databricks, Azure, Terraform, Azure DevOps.
• Python and SQL for data modeling and pipeline orchestration.
• Experience with industrial buses such as CAN or EtherCAT.
• Familiarity with embedded platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and medical device quality management systems.
• Understanding of data security principles including access control, encryption, and anonymization.
