Senior Software Engineer – Consensus

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer focusing on consensus, you will strengthen Anza's Agave client and the Solana network, improving blockchain efficiency and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimise consensus mechanisms to boost throughput and stability.
• Develop algorithms for fair and efficient block production coordination among validators.
• Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities in consensus processes.
• Enhance scalability and performance to handle growing transaction volumes.
• Create and run comprehensive tests, including stress, fault‑injection and benchmarking.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years of core infrastructure or distributed systems experience.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and a security‑first mindset.
• Self‑driven, research‑oriented and comfortable learning independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Rust or C++.
• Experience with consensus algorithms, distributed systems and blockchain technology.
• Performance profiling and optimisation techniques.
• Familiarity with Linux, systems automation tools and systems architecture.
