Senior Tax Manager – Europe & Canada (Pharma)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead tax activities across Europe and Canada for a global pharmaceutical client. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on execution, supporting the company’s growth while ensuring compliance with complex tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee tax matters across multiple European countries, including Eastern Europe.
• Lead tax audits with local authorities at federal, regional and local levels.
• Ensure corporate income tax compliance in partnership with shared services and external advisors.
• Advise internal stakeholders such as Finance, Legal, HR, Supply Chain and Business Development on tax implications.
• Identify, assess and mitigate tax risks throughout the region.
• Monitor and coordinate transfer‑pricing documentation and related matters.
• Track legislative changes and evaluate their impact on the business.
• Review contracts and new initiatives from a tax perspective.
• Drive process improvements and reduce complexity within the tax function.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Law, preferably with a tax specialization.
• Minimum 5 years of tax experience, ideally in the pharmaceutical sector or a Big 4 environment.
• Strong knowledge of international tax regulations, especially in Europe and Eastern Europe.
• Proven experience in tax audits, compliance and tax accounting.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities with stakeholder‑influence skills.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
