Tax Lead – Global Tax Group

About the role

Join Takeda’s Global Tax group as a Tax Lead, responsible for overseeing the company’s tax position across selected European countries and Canada. You will act as a trusted partner to finance and business teams, bridging global tax strategy with regional execution while managing audits, compliance and transfer‑pricing matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead corporate income tax compliance and defend tax audits across the region, coordinating with Takeda Business Solutions and local service providers.
• Identify, assess and mitigate tax risks, ensuring transparent communication with tax authorities.
• Monitor and implement indirect tax, withholding tax and other tax procedures.
• Track legislative changes and advise business units on material tax impacts.
• Coordinate transfer‑pricing documentation and adjustments in collaboration with the Transfer Pricing team.
• Review contracts and business initiatives from a tax perspective and provide guidance to finance, legal, supply‑chain and HR partners.

Required profile

• University degree in accounting, finance, law or economics with a specialization in taxation; CPA or tax specialist certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of tax experience in the pharmaceutical industry or Big 4 environment.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws and fiscal frameworks in Europe and Canada.
• Fluent in English and at least one additional European language.

Required skills

• Tax technical expertise, including corporate income tax, indirect tax and transfer pricing.
• Experience managing tax audits and litigation.
• Ability to analyze complex tax issues and present actionable recommendations.
• Proficiency with Takeda’s tax systems and shared‑services concepts.
