Server Support Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Server Support Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. You will maintain, monitor and optimise Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring high availability, performance and security for critical business systems.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and support Windows and Linux servers.
• Monitor server performance, health and resource utilisation.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and OS issues.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Perform patch management, updates and security hardening.
• Support backup, recovery, disaster‑recovery and business‑continuity processes.
• Assist with server, application and infrastructure migrations and upgrades.
• Maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper‑V or Proxmox.
• Collaborate with network, security and cloud teams to ensure reliability.
• Document systems, procedures and technical reports.
• Respond to incidents, service requests and escalations promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux Server and enterprise administration.
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V, Proxmox).
• Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPN, routing, switching, firewalls).
• Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster‑recovery principles.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
