Software Engineer – Digital Printing Module

About the role

Our Group Technology R&D team is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Print Engine group developing the next generation of digital printers. You will work on the Digital Printing Module, collaborating with hardware and automation engineers to deliver innovative, high‑performance software in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and enhance functionality for the Digital Printing Module.
• Perform code reviews and ensure daily CI compliance.
• Maintain and evolve software for existing product portfolio.
• Understand mechanical, electrical and software interactions of the module.
• Drive technology evolution focusing on performance, robustness and security.
• Ensure software quality through automated testing.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews).
• Collaborate with product owners, field technicians, customers and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong computer science or micro‑engineering/robotics background (MSc or equivalent).
• Experience in industrial software development using modern C++20.
• Good knowledge of concurrency, distributed computing, relational databases, TCP/IP and computer architecture.
• Ability to work autonomously, result‑oriented and proactive.
• Team‑spirit and effective communication with multiple actors.

Required skills

• C++20 and C# programming.
• Boost, REST and OPC‑UA frameworks.
• PostgreSQL database.
• Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and Visual Studio IDE.
• Git version control (Azure workflow preferred).
• Debugging and profiling tools.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs (Beckhoff or Siemens) is a plus.
• Familiarity with VMware ESXi, cloud and networking infrastructures.
