Teamleader Design Engineering – Generator Circuit Breaker

About the role

Join the Generator Circuit Breaker (GCB) team and lead a group of CAD designers in creating high‑quality engineering data for power‑generation products. You will work closely with engineers, project leads and suppliers across the full product lifecycle, from concept to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and manage a team of approximately 10 CAD designers, ensuring accurate creation, modification and maintenance of 3D models, drawings and bills of materials.
• Develop, enhance and maintain master data for all GCB products in CAD/PLM systems.
• Implement special designs, cost‑saving projects and drive product‑quality improvements.
• Initiate and establish design‑process improvements and ensure efficient collaboration with other engineering functions and stakeholders.
• Support apprentice supervision and training together with apprentice advisors.
• Guarantee compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Required profile

• Solid technical foundation as a senior designer or equivalent engineering background.
• Proven experience with CAD tools, preferably Creo.
• Strong knowledge of PLM systems, preferably PTC Windchill, including roles, object management and release processes.
• Experience in a team‑leading or project‑management function.
• Excellent self‑organisation, ability to structure work and manage multiple design topics simultaneously.
• Process‑improvement mindset and focus on document quality.
• Fluent in German and English.
