Test Engineer (80-100%)

About the role

ABB is seeking a Test Engineer to support testing and verification activities for UPS products at its Smart Power site in Quartino. The role involves handling low- and medium‑complexity systems and works in a hybrid model.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute level‑two troubleshooting procedures for new events.
• Maintain, modify, and optimise test instructions for mass production in collaboration with R&D engineers.
• Provide technical support during installation of test objects in the test area.
• Assist the Production Supervisor in defining and maintaining the skill matrix for test operators.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in UPS, service engineering, or related testing roles.
• Strong knowledge of engineering techniques, measurement tools and safety practices.
• Self‑motivated, curious and eager to learn new technologies.
• Collaborative, solution‑focused with strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Degree in electrical/electronic engineering or a similar field.
• Fluent in English.

• Experience with UPS systems.
• Proficiency using power meters.
• Proficiency using oscilloscopes.
