Verification & Validation Engineer

About the role

Stadler Signalling is looking for a Verification & Validation Engineer in Wallisellen, Switzerland, to work on its ETCS/ATP system integration project into the vehicle. The role covers validation and verification planning, requirement review, conformity checks against European standards and the assigned Safety Integrity Level (SIL), as well as audits, inspections and reviews of the project.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a validation and verification plan for the ETCS/ATP system integration project into the vehicle
• Review requirements in relation to the intended environment and use
• Evaluate the conformity of the development process against European standards, including the assigned SIL
• Verify the correctness, consistency and appropriateness of test cases, executed tests and test tools
• Ensure all validation and verification activities follow EN standards
• Carry out audits, inspections or reviews of the project at various stages of its life cycle
• Provide approval and/or disagreement for developed versions

Required profile

• Completed technical training as an electrical or computer science engineer (ETH/TU/FH) or comparable training
• Several years of professional experience in the railway industry (mandatory)
• At least 8 years of expertise in validation, verification or functional safety
• Fluent German and English
• Motivated, independent and solution-oriented, with strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration

Required skills

• Knowledge of IEEE, UNISIG and EN standards such as EN 50126 and EN 50129
• Ideally experience with train control systems
