About the role
A-ROSA is seeking experienced captains and navigational officers to manage ship operations on European inland waterways. You will ensure safe, efficient voyages while representing the company to passengers.
Key responsibilities
- Manage ship operations, passenger relations and ship logs.
- Oversee maintenance, legal compliance and on‑board safety according to inland navigation regulations.
- Coordinate communication among officers, handle clearance formalities and prepare shipyard and winter lists.
- Develop and optimise workflows and operational standards.
Required profile
- Valid captain’s licence for the Danube or Rhine (including Dutch border to Basel).
- Boatman’s booklet, health certificate and several years of relevant river experience.
- Radar observer and advanced fire‑fighting courses, radio operator’s certificate.
- Leadership qualities, professional appearance and good German and English skills.
Required skills
- Expertise with Schottel STP 550 Elast and Schottel sPJ 57 RD propulsion systems.
- Qualified Expert for Passenger Ship Navigation on the Rhine.
