About the role
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights is seeking an Administrative Assistant for its Digital Tech and Human Rights Section in Geneva. The role supports the Chief of the section in managing HR, budget, and general administrative tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Manage human resources processes including recruitment, placement, relocation, promotion, performance appraisal, and training, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Enter and maintain administrative data on time‑attendance and performance appraisal in electronic systems.
- Monitor budget expenditures using UMOJA, update budget tables, and prepare financial reports and statistical tables.
- Process official travel arrangements, draft routine correspondence, and maintain files and SharePoint documentation.
- Coordinate with service units, support seminars and conferences, and handle vendor payments and office space planning.
- Collect, analyse, and present data for internal reporting.
Required profile
- Experience in administrative support within an international or public‑sector environment.
- Familiarity with HR procedures, budget monitoring, and travel coordination.
- Ability to work with electronic information systems and maintain accurate records.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
