Air Export Agent

About the role

Maersk's Zurich Airfreight Station combines international reach with a hands-on operational environment. As an Air Export Agent (Air Freight Operations Associate), you handle airfreight shipments end to end, taking ownership of your shipment files and coordinating with customers, carriers, handling agents and colleagues across the Maersk network. The role calls for a high degree of independence and operational judgement, and you will join an experienced team in Zurich.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage airfreight import and export shipments from booking through completion.
• Take full ownership of operational files, including documentation, milestones, costs, invoicing and financial accuracy.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, handling agents, customs partners and the Maersk global network.
• Make independent decisions on routing, capacity, priorities and exception handling.
• Proactively identify and resolve operational issues while keeping customers and stakeholders informed.
• Ensure compliance with operational, customs, security and dangerous-goods requirements.
• Maintain a high level of customer service and support continuous improvement and commercial initiatives at the Zurich Station.

Required profile

• Completed commercial apprenticeship (kaufmännische Lehre), preferably in freight forwarding, international logistics or a comparable field.
• Solid practical experience in airfreight operations and a good understanding of import and export processes.
• Further qualifications such as eidg. dipl. Speditionsfachmann/-frau are highly welcome.
• Strong ability to work independently, recognise priorities and make sound operational decisions.
• Well organised and able to keep oversight in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent German and English; French is an advantage.
