Assets Trader – Power & Gas (Europe)

About the role

The Assets Trader – Power & Gas (Europe) will join TotalEnergies' Trading & Shipping division in Geneva. Working on the Assets Trading Desk, you will help optimise a growing portfolio of flexible generation assets and procurement contracts across multiple European markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep market expertise in European power, gas and emissions markets, including market design and price formation.
• Analyse the asset portfolio to determine optimal dispatch strategies considering operational constraints and market conditions.
• Contribute to the design, development and continuous improvement of analytical and modelling tools.
• Define and implement trading and hedging strategies, executing trades in power, gas and emissions markets within defined mandates.
• Collaborate with Origination, Operations, Finance, Middle Office, IT and research teams to support new agreements, portfolio growth and short‑term optimisation.
• Ensure full compliance with internal policies and external regulations such as REMIT.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of European power market structures, generation stack dynamics and ancillary services.
• Ability to translate technical asset characteristics into optimal trading decisions.
• Experience working in a collaborative, cross‑functional trading environment.
• Commitment to adhere to trading governance, risk frameworks and compliance requirements.

Required skills

• Analytical modelling and quantitative analysis.
• Knowledge of power, gas and emissions market mechanisms.
• Familiarity with digital workflow tools and real‑time risk management systems.
