Credit Analyst – Commodity Trade Finance

About the role

We are seeking a Credit Analyst to join the Credit Analysis team of a Swiss financial institution in Geneva. The role focuses on assessing the financial strength and creditworthiness of clients and counterparties involved in Commodity Trade Finance, analysing transaction risks and providing recommendations on credit facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse financial statements and Credit Approval Forms for a portfolio of commodity trade finance clients.
• Assess creditworthiness and financial strength of clients and counterparties.
• Provide structured credit risk assessments and recommendations to internal decision‑makers.
• Maintain up‑to‑date credit files and apply internal credit ratings.
• Review accreditation requests for major counterparties, brokers and insurers.
• Support the structuring of transactions and establishment of credit lines in close collaboration with Relationship Managers and Commodity Trade Finance teams.
• Participate in client meetings when required.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Economics or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Credit Analyst or Credit Officer in commodity trade finance or a related audit role.
• Strong understanding of commodity trade finance activities and instruments.
• Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
• Ability to present financial analysis clearly and concisely.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, autonomous work style.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Swiss residency required.
