Automation Project Engineer – 24‑month contract

About the role
Medtronic is seeking an Automation Project Engineer to support custom capital equipment projects for medical device manufacturing at its Tolochenaz site. The role covers the full equipment engineering lifecycle from concept through installation and hand‑over to Process Engineering.
Key responsibilities
- Translate Voice of Operations/Process (VOX) into User Requirement Specifications (URS), Functional Specifications (FS) and conduct equipment risk assessments (FMEA).
- Participate in design reviews with machine builders, evaluate mechanical, electrical, control logic and safety systems.
- Execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at vendor sites and coordinate Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Installation Qualification (IQ) at the Tolochenaz facility.
- Prepare technical documentation, spare‑parts lists and train maintenance and process teams for operational readiness.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 2–4 years of equipment engineering experience in a regulated environment (medical device, pharma or precision engineering).
- Fluency in French and English (written and spoken).
Required skills
- PLC programming and HMI configuration.
- Robotics, pneumatics and vision‑system integration.
- 3D CAD modelling using SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 equipment qualification procedures.
