Automation Technician – Manufacturing Support

About the role

Mondelēz International is looking for an Automation Technician in its manufacturing business unit in Bern. The expert brings deep technical mastery of the process and equipment and leads the planning, process development and implementation of Planned Maintenance Elements in a continuous improvement environment, managing teams of technical and non-technical staff, support contractors and operations personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with line leaders to deliver the SQCDSM targets (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability and Morale) and ensure process stability
• Take part in daily management system meetings at shift and line level
• Own the technology, process and centerline settings of the equipment, and the progressive maintenance systems, KPIs and repair and maintenance budget of the line
• Develop, own and run preventive and time-based maintenance plans, and train technicians so they can operate and maintain their own equipment
• Lead maintenance systems at line level and some at department level, and partner with the asset and reliability team on special maintenance tasks
• Handle change management on the line, spare parts localization, breakdown analysis and R&M cost reduction
• Act as the site technology owner in regional and global technology forums, and help with internal and external benchmarking
• Be a subject matter expert on one component category and a trainer on PM topics for the plant

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Autonomous Maintenance (AM) Step 4 and Progressive Maintenance Step 3
• Independent maintenance of dedicated equipment under basic conditions, including AM and PM standards and TPM Phase 3 and 4 problem-solving tools
