Banking Specialist - OTC Derivatives Processing

About the role

Avaloq's Banking Operations service line provides outsourcing of banking operations to banks, with a global Business Area delivering back-office services with high automation, quality and risk standards. You will join the OTC Derivatives Team, which processes and manages the life cycle of in-scope products within agreed SLAs and procedures, including order validation, confirmation matching, cash and position reconciliation and listed option transfers.

Key responsibilities

• Process OTC equity and FX derivative products (accumulators, decumulators, swaps, dual currency investment, structured investment, FX-related products) as well as interest rate swaps, listed options and futures in a timely and accurate way.
• Promptly follow up with relevant parties to resolve trade exceptions and discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding break items in cash and position reconciliations.
• Ensure derivatives operations stay within SLAs and KPIs to prevent losses and breaches, and escalate operational risks to the Manager.
• Support the Manager with process improvement and keeping the Key Operating Procedure (KOP) up to date.
• Perform user acceptance testing as required.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in back-office order processing.
• Proactive, positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving and time-management skills, with high attention to detail and flexibility.
• Excellent knowledge of English and Italian.
• French and German are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Nice to have: good knowledge of the Avaloq system and solid technical know-how in derivatives.
