Trade Processing and Settlement Trainee (12-Month Fixed-Term)

About the role

Avaloq, a Swiss provider of wealth management technology and services for financial institutions, is looking for a motivated trainee to join its Trade Processing & Settlement team in Bioggio. This is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time position offering hands-on experience in banking operations and financial markets, with a focus on the post-trade lifecycle of investment funds and securities. The trainee works in an international environment with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Process stock exchange trades (mainly bonds, equities, ETFs and funds) in the Avaloq Banking Suite
• Handle delivery versus payment settlement
• Ensure transactions are processed correctly and settled on time
• Monitor settlement operations and failed trades
• Follow up and coordinate with clients, trading desks and custodians
• Perform cash and securities reconciliation

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities
• Service-oriented mindset and strong team-player attitude
• Proactive, reliable and motivated to learn
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English and Italian; knowledge of German is an advantage
