Bare Developer – Cross‑Platform Runtime Engineer

About the role

This role sits at the intersection of systems programming and runtime engineering, building a lightweight cross‑platform runtime and its native modules. You will develop high‑performance C and JavaScript bindings that expose OS capabilities such as networking, filesystem, Bluetooth and cryptography across mobile, desktop, server and constrained environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain native modules in C and JavaScript, owning the full lifecycle from development to production deployment.
• Expose OS‑level features (Bluetooth, networking, filesystem, cryptography) through JavaScript APIs.
• Maintain cross‑compilation toolchains and CI pipelines for macOS, Linux, Android and iOS.
• Contribute to the evolution of the runtime core, improving module systems and native addon architecture.
• Debug complex, multi‑platform issues to ensure stability, performance and reliability.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience in C programming and system‑level code.
• Advanced JavaScript expertise with knowledge of runtime internals and module systems.
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a distributed, writing‑heavy engineering culture.
• Excellent written communication skills.
