Business Development Director

About the role

The Business Development Director will drive new customer acquisition and expand existing relationships within the biopharmaceutical sector. Working closely with the Vice President of Business Development, the role focuses on identifying strategic partnerships, licensing opportunities, and joint ventures to support the company’s growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the VP of Business Development with client acquisition, proposal preparation, and account management.
• Identify and qualify new sales leads, solicit RFPs, and manage the end‑to‑end proposal process.
• Maintain and grow existing client relationships within assigned accounts.
• Represent the company at trade shows and scientific meetings, coordinating booth logistics and follow‑up activities.
• Conduct on‑site client presentations, explore opportunities, and advance sales cycles toward closure.
• Organise technical visits to company facilities, develop agendas, and coordinate with scientific staff.
• Lead contract negotiations, including CDA, MSA, and quality agreements, in collaboration with legal and quality teams.
• Update CRM with opportunity status and maintain market awareness of biopharma opportunities.

Required profile

• Technical PhD or MSc in a scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in business development within the life‑science industry.
• Proven success in securing technical contracts or capital‑equipment deals.
• Strong experience in prospecting, relationship building, proposal development, and contract negotiation.
